Introduction and blog index

Yes, I am the same guy as the one who runs Artistic Translations of Poetry and Songs. That is my hobby: fiddling with languages and a tad of linguistics. My academic career, however, is entirely different. I have a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in Maths, and am now hunting for a Ph.D. position.
[Um, newsflash, this blog, with its three posts plus index, and the "Posts on the blog's Facebook page" I will soon make, is on standby until I find time to dedicate to it, what with the translations blog and the YT channel taking up a crazy amount of time and me being in the middle of a post-doc – yeah, so much for the Ph.D., it's already over and done :).]
So, after half a year of the other blog, I thought it might be a good idea to start a new blog to show off my Math abilities. The purpose of this blog is to convert my University notes into posts that will spread my knowledge in a hopefully accessible way. The blog is thought of in three levels of difficulty, distinguished by font size: noob, med, master.
  • Things at noob level should be understandable by basically anyone who speaks English – oh yes, the blog is going to be entirely in English.
  • Things at med level will be medium-difficulty.
  • Things at master level will get pretty complex or technical, and should only be tackled by the bravest, say those who study Maths or Physics, who are well-versed in Maths.
Of course, I may see things as easier than they actually are, so comments are welcome. At the moment, the blog has two posts beside this index. I plan to post the next post within next week, though the "monthly" part would demand I post it today, but writing a post is a long task and there simply isn't enough time today for it. [And in the end, I posted it the next day :).]
I will keep posting at least once a month, at pretty much random intervals, so keep an eye on this index, because that is how you will know something new's out: I will add new posts to it as soon as I post. This index includes a spoiler with a [very incomplete] post plan, like the index of the other blog, but this one only has titles, because the dates are random, and the topics should be inferrable from the titles. Enjoy!
UPDATE And then ordinals and company were like "Yeah, you wish! One post per month? I'm gonna give you one that takes a month to get ready, so that after waiting the month of freedom you have to delay by another month! Mwahahahahah!". So I revoke the promise, and just pleinly state that the posting times will be random. Sorry guys, these posts take forever to write :). The title is too cool to change accordingly though…
[Main body written 27/4/18, UPDATE written 30/6/18, comments in [] written 20/4/24. I held off on this update for the longest time because I didn't want to post on the page, but it's well overdue now.]
